Appareled Abode

It's been a while since I last posted. I have been working on a lot of design projects and life has gotten very busy. I took a break from Linen & Gold to start working on a new site launching this month called Appareled Abode.

It has been something I have been working on for quite some time now and decided to just finally start the new site. It's a blog all about fashion inspired decor. I have some other great lifestyle topics on the blog like Currently Coveting, Beauty, and Cocktail of the Month and as the site grows you will also be able to Shop the Looks featured on the blog posts.

The site is active now, I have a few posts in the works and am adding more daily this week. We will have so many great fashion and home decor products featured along with some amazing guests you will be excited to see!

This is going to be quite a journey for me and I hope you all decide to come along for the ride!

Perfect Pairing - Appareled Abode

Happy Happy Friday! Can you believe it's almost mid July? Where has this summer gone? After the 4th I always feel like it just flies by so quickly. There is still enough time to rock all your fun summer clothes.  I have said it before and I will say it again and again...I love the color combo of indigo and tangerine. I love it so much I decided to make this weeks installment of Appareled Abode about just that!

Dinner Date ~ Appareled Abode

This week's Appareled Abode is one I found a lot of fun.  I find designing fun all the time but this was especially fun because I was thinking I wanted to do a dinner date ensemble and decor, even if the dinner date is a fancy one in your own home. Those are sometimes the best ones!

I love the mixture of creams and golds with a pop of yellow. Very calm with a little unexpected of happy!  Of course you have to mix in a little texture.

This color scheme compliments all skin tones and with just a little candlelight the room would be radiant. Who doesn't look good in candle light? Even Jerry Seinfeld's "two faced" girlfriend could pull it off well! (Seinfeld fans will understand).

Where to get the look:

Apparel: DRESS | SHOES | CLUTCH | BRACELETS | WATCH | EARRINGS

First off I must state that I am obsessed with the shoes and they are on my wish list. Read that D? I would accept them for my birthday, Christmas (bday & Christmas combined) just because.  I digress....

In apparel design I mixed a bit  of high end and low end pieces. The room is a little more high end than low with all the pieces from Arteriors but their pieces never disappoint. (Little designer secret....Home Goods will randomly have some of their last season items so there is another excuse for you to make your weekly visit.) This room can easily be recreated with less expensive furniture and still get the same look. I have seen a table very similar to this at Jordan's furniture just last week.

Every Friday I have a new Appareled Abode segment so make sure to check back!
If you have a suggestion for an outfit or room you would like to see my create feel free to send me a message!

Have a great weekend everyone!

Appareled Abode | White Hot Magenta!

For the first installment of my Appareled Abode Series I decided to go with a fun pop of color. Magenta.

I was inspired by this white outfit with magenta accents for my Apparel portion....

Although this outfit is on trend and super cute, I personally am not sure if I would be brave enough to rock the  bustier  (I think it's a little too young for this 30 something year old). I would change out the top for a similar style spaghetti strap tank in a longer length and tuck it into the skirt. Anyone women out there that can pull it off... ROCK IT! Regardless, I love this look!

This is my rendition on how to pull off this look in your Abode!

Mixing lots of white with patterned magenta elements give this abode lots of color and texture but still keeping it clean with the main elements being white. Adding pops of metallic in with the bedside and chair side tables give this room some texture just like jewelry would to an outfit.

Love the looks in this Appareled Abode?  Here is where you get everything you see here!

Apparel:
Jersey Bustier | Tulip Wrap Skirt | Ankle Wrap Sandals | White Patent Leather Clutch | Nars Lip gloss | Korres Plum Lip Butter

Abode: Ivory Linen Chair | Magenta Pillow Cover | Square Gold Table | Round Gold Side Table | Console Table | White Tufted Bed | Rug | Duvet

I hope this post inspires you to peek into your closet to style your home! What styles would you like to see in future post of APPARELED ABODE? Leave  me a comment for suggestions or contact me for design help!

Appareled Abode

As many of you know, fashion inspires me when creating interior designs. I love getting ideas to decorate homes through many outlets. Not only interior design and decor magazines but also from flipping through fashion mags, reading fashion blogs and of course perusing Pinterest. With this inspiration I have started a new series for the blog called....

Once a week, Appareled Abode with take outfits/garments and show you how to use them as a muse to style your home. I will select the outfit or garment piece and design a room based around it.

Love the outfit? Love the room? Well your in luck because all the items included in both the outfit and decor will be listed after each post.

Do you have a "go to" piece in your closet that you love or an outfit that inspires you?  I offer this service to my clients so contact me and I would be happy to assist you in creating your space to reflect your personal style. This is just another way I hope to help inspire you to

Stayed tuned.....the first Appareled Abode is in the works as we speak!

What's My Name?

Monogramming is huge right now in styling. People like putting their name on something  and monogramming is the best way to do so. It's making a mark on the style scene both in interiors and in fashion.  I am all about monogramming and these are my favorite ways to put my initials on my favorite possessions.

If you like then you should put your name on it!

Adore Chambray...

It was 1993 and I was obsessed with button down shirts. My most favorite was a worn washed denim button down that I got at the Gap. I wore this shirt with jeans mostly trying to match the colors perfectly. It was what you wore as a freshman in HS because it was rad.
This look has since been labeled the "Canadian Tuxedo".  I thought I looked so cool.

Fast forward 20 years (really, it's been that long!?!?!) and I am once again in love with that denim shirt now labeled the "chambray".

My styling and fashion sense has expanded so much since those high school days and I am now pairing this button down with everything from skirts & black pants to colored denim & layering it under cozy sweaters and blazers. It is my go to item in my closet when I don't know what to wear & it has replaced a cardigan for many of my outfits. I especially adore it mixed with a bold print like leopard.

Here are a few of my favorite looks!

Mixed with a striped maxi and a pop of red.

A short emerald green skirt & gold belt.

Cream blazer & simply gold jewelry.

White blazer & gold sequin shorts.

Black leggings/jeans & brown boots

Light gray sweater & black/dark wash jeans.

Who can deny this looks AH-MAZING. Chambray over a wedding dress with cowboy boots.

The sky is the limit when pairing the Chambray shirt. Anything goes!
